Lung Health Advocacy
Springfield, IL
On this trip we went to our State Capitol, Springfield, to meet with legislators to advocate for lung health bills. We were lucky to meet
with a few legislators individually:
Representative Sandra Pihos (right bottom) and Steve Lee (fellow volunteer)
Senator Dan Kotowski with fellow volunteers (left)
Chicago Lighthouse
(school for children who are blind and intellectually disabled)
Pic below is from the Children's Farm Field Trip. We assisted the students around the zoo, encouraged them to touch the animals and identify each one. They had a blast feeling their way around the zoo and smelling all the interesting smells! We ended the day with a hayride through the park and lunch.
This camp is for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
As a camp counselor, I was assigned to assist Jess (right)
and was a member of the blue team (below).
We participated in a variety of games where we encouraged
sharing, teamwork, and controlling emotions.

Medical Missions - Uganda, Africa
Kishanje Village
This missions trip was amazing. My mom and I went to Uganda to work at a medical camp. We met a group of Ugandan doctors who directed the camp and acted as our translators. The camp was tiny (right 2nd from top) and had little supplies (middle and bottom right) but the villagers would walk for days and sit for hours ( left 2nd from top) to seek medical advice. The most common conditions we treated were malaria, worms, and STI's. We will never forget this experience and I cannot wait to go again.
