To Whom It May Concern:

I enthusiastically recommend Amy Lichtfuss in her application to nursing school. I have known her for over 4 years during which she has worked as my primary medical assistant.

Amy is an outstanding medical assistant with exceptional clinical capability beyond her level of training.  She has a tireless work ethic and a tremendous attention to detail in the care of patients.  She is both thoughtful and empathic in her patient care.  She is organized, punctual and gets things done.  She works well with other staff and other physicians regularly ask her to assist in the care of their patients.  She is a true team player frequently arriving to work early and volunteering to stay late.

She demonstrates appropriate initiative and has consistently advanced her skill set and her work responsibilities.  Amy is inquisitive, enthusiastic, and successfully applies her clinical knowledge to the benefit of patients.

On a personal level, Amy is a pleasure to work with. She combines a high intellect with a modest disposition and a good sense of humor.  She is well liked by physicians, nursing staff, patients, and her peers.

In summary, I give Amy Lichtfuss my highest recommendation without reservation.  I am confident that she will contribute significantly to the field of nursing.  Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any questions you may have regarding Amy.

Sincerely,

Richard Makowiec, MD

To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to provide this letter of recommendation for Ms. Amy Lichtfuss. I had worked with Amy as her clinical instructor for her clinical rotation as part of the psychiatric nursing course with Rush University Medical Center’s School of Nursing. The psychiatric nursing clinical rotation is a unique opportunity to evaluate the character of student nurses as they must use their compassion and their words to deliver the most effective care. Amy’s knowledge and compassion left quite an impact on the patients to whom she delivered care.

As a student nurse, Amy utilized the content she had learned in class and was able to integrate her knowledge into the clinical setting. She had seen patients with chronic and persistent mental health illness and those with a history of physical and emotional abuse, self harm, and substance dependence. Amy demonstrated respect for her patients and had a natural partiality to be attentive to and empathic towards them. As a result, she was able to engage even the most difficult individuals regardless of the type of nursing unit, and to build rapport quickly to begin the healing process.

Amy was a hardworking, bright, and enthusiastic individual. She was respected by her peers and was a team player. She did not hesitate to extend herself to delivering services in areas where services were needed. As her clinical instructor, I valued her input and thoughts regarding the patients she saw, the unit we were on, and the nature of the clinical rotation.

In summary, Amy is a highly motivated, intelligent, and dedicated individual whom I strongly recommend for inclusion into your organization. I am sure you will find her, as I have, a true asset. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 847-257-2497 or email at michelle_heyland@rush.edu should you need more information.
